For Woodwalkers fans, it’s not just the new installment, Herr der Gestalten, that’s arriving — it comes with a limited-edition goodie box full of surprises for true shapeshifter devotees.
Katja Brandis is a favorite among 10- to 12-year-old readers for her beloved Woodwalkers and Seawalkers series. Now the adventure continues with Carag, Tikkani, Holly, Brandon and the rest of the Clearwater High crew. In Herr der Gestalten, the latest Woodwalkers installment, the hunt is on for the shapeshifters’ secret book — a chase that takes Carag and his classmates all the way to Africa. Hot on their heels is Rebecca Youngblood, a lion shapeshifter with her eye on the powerful spells hidden inside.
During a student exchange at Narawandu School in Namibia, Carag sets out to find the book. Along the way, his encounters with unfamiliar shapeshifters and desert learning expeditions prove exciting enough on their own. Carag comes to realize that many of his African classmates are hiding secrets of their own — the biggest being the Lord of Shapes, a shapeshifter said to possess extraordinary powers, and rumored to be living right among them. This installment, too, comes illustrated with Claudia Carls’s beautiful artwork.
