From “Haus Bellevue” to Organic Hotel
In the hands of the Seiwald family since 1928 and organically certified today, the Garmischer Hof is a storied family house in the Alps that now, in its fourth generation, offers guests a genuine health and wellness experience.
Garmischer Hof is a place to feel at home, a place shaped by family tradition. Christiane Seiwald took over the hotel in 1979 and has guided its evolution with heart and soul ever since, shaping it into the property it is today, charm and character intact. She remains, even now, the house’s guiding spirit. Since 2011, her son Florian and his wife Konstanze have run the Garmischer Hof, carrying the next generation into leadership. What defines the atmosphere throughout is a sense of togetherness.
The hotel has been organically certified since 2015 — a distinction that naturally extends to the breakfast buffet and the in-house restaurant. For the Seiwald family, staying close to nature isn’t just a job, it’s a way of life, and they prize the quality of fresh, regional ingredients anew each day.
In 2016, the hotel went a step further, training and certifying itself as a base-fasting hotel. It puts to rest the old worry about gaining weight on holiday thanks to a tempting buffet: by avoiding acid-forming foods, guests can eat well, feel satisfied, and still leave healthier and thoroughly relaxed.
But it’s not only food lovers who find something to savour here — wellness enthusiasts will too. The family house features a two-storey Alpisana spa with everything the heart could want: steam bath, sauna, a Kneipp circuit, and a hammam. In this haven, finding your centre feels almost guaranteed.
The organic philosophy doesn’t stop at the kitchen or the spa. Guest rooms use certified organic cosmetics, and the hotel runs on renewable electricity. New, sustainably renovated rooms are currently being built, featuring natural stone bathrooms, solid cherry-wood floors, metal-free beds, and further eco-conscious touches.
