The rich, restorative pairing is vegan, free of fragrance and sulphates, and made in France. With 95% natural ingredients, the shampoo wraps hair in a protective layer, smooths the surface, and prevents tangling. It hydrates without weighing hair down and soothes the scalp. The mask, formulated with 0.3% biomimetic ceramides and avocado oil, repairs and conditions the hair fibre, smooths, and adds suppleness while guarding against split ends. We were genuinely impressed by the results — and the beautifully designed packaging makes both products a real eye-catcher in any bathroom.
Less is More Lindengloss Conditioner & Lindengloss Shampoo
Less is More is an Austrian company specialising in organic cosmetics built exclusively from certified organic plant-based actives — no synthetic preservatives, silicones, sulphates, fragrances, or dyes, ever. The brand was developed by Dr. Doris Brandhuber and Hannes Trummer. A chemist and aromatherapist by training, Dr. Brandhuber spent years immersed in modern organic cosmetics before deciding to develop her own products — ones that are sustainable while still working wonders for hair. Hairstylist and trainer Hannes Trummer helped shape the Less is More concept from the styling side: reduction to the essentials. That philosophy carries through into his salon too, where the client is the clear focus, reinforced by the space’s architecture and interior design.
We tested the Lindengloss range from Less is More. The shampoo and conditioner deliver real hydration and silky combability, especially for damaged or coloured hair. The usual frizz disappeared, and hair took on a beautiful shine. A further plus: the pleasantly herbaceous scent of fresh herbs.
Saint Charles Wild Roots Shampoo & Conditioner
From the Austrian brand Saint Charles, we tested the Wild Roots Shampoo and its matching conditioner. Drawing on traditional European herbal knowledge, the Wild Roots hair line looks to native plants for its formulation. Pure essential oils of rosemary, orange, and a touch of lemon, all organic, come together in a quality organic hair care blend. After washing, hair combed through beautifully, with a silky shine and a wonderful scent of lemon and rosemary. The only drawback: the pump dispenser was a little stiff to use.
Bioturm Lotus Effect Shampoo No. 17 and Bioturm Lotus Effect Treatment
Repeated washing, unsuitable shampoos, and demanding styling can all take a toll on the keratin structure of hair, leaving it harder to comb and prone to breakage. In these cases, hair urgently needs moisture and oils to help revitalise that keratin structure.
Bioturm’s Lotus Effect Shampoo No. 17 is enriched with a combination of lotus flower and moringa extracts. This particular formula wraps hair in a natural protective layer, allowing for gentle smoothing while preventing tangling and the build-up of particles. The result is glossy, supple hair that combs more easily while staying protected from environmental damage.
The No. 19 Treatment, with its intensive lotus effect, effectively complements the Lotus Shampoo for dry, over-processed hair. Alongside the soothing properties of lotus flower and moringa, a specialised wheat protein helps repair damaged hair structure and improve combability. The result is noticeably softer hair with a silky shine and a subtle scent. Our verdict: thoroughly impressed. The shampoo leaves hair smooth and silky without weighing it down, all without silicones. The floral scent is lovely too — one of the most convincing hair care ranges in our test.
Dr. Hauschka Hair Oil & Tonic
From Dr. Hauschka, we tested the hair oil and hair tonic, because shiny hair often needs more than just shampoo and conditioner. The hair tonic is a balancing, strengthening treatment suited to the scalp and every hair type. Its oil-free formula, with neem, nettle, birch bark, arnica, and burdock root, works gently to address the differing needs of scalp and hair. For excess oil production, the tonic has a normalising effect and can help prevent dandruff, while giving fine hair more body and hold. The silicone-free hair oil restores vitality and softness, offering intensive, restorative care for dry, damaged, split, or dull hair. It’s especially well suited to sensitive scalps and to hair that’s permed, coloured, or stressed by styling or sun exposure. A blend of neem, chamomile, wheat germ oil, and rosemary strengthens hair and calms the scalp, while the revitalising power of these prized botanical extracts gives hair new bounce and shine. After use, our hair wasn’t weighed down at all — just silky, shiny, and easy to comb.
