That year, David, Leif, and Simon spent time travelling through Asia, where they came across this remarkable super-material — already used for generations across the region to make plates, seat covers, even roof tiles. Won over by leaf leather’s exceptional properties, the founding trio quickly realised this vegan material had the potential to finally shake up a market long dominated by animal hide.

BELEAF was officially founded in 2017, headquartered in Hamburg, with a clear ambition: to make leaves the number-one sustainable leather alternative across Germany and Europe. The LEAFs — Simply Better
BELEAF has affectionately named its product family “LEAFs.” Every LEAF stands for functionality, uniqueness, and veganism at the highest level, available across seven different colours.
