In Harmony With Nature
Once you arrive, it’s clear the Hideaway lives up to its name. Even the hotel’s construction was designed to blend seamlessly into the landscape, with larch-shingle cladding and an intensively planted green roof. And just as the hotel settles harmoniously into nature, nature finds its way inside, too. Guest rooms are soothed by apple wood — a symbol of life and temptation — and the calming scent of Swiss pine. The same native larch shingles reappear in the 1,500-square-meter Artemacur Spa.
The power of nature runs through the entire wellness area — and not only because of the singular panoramic view enjoyed from the sauna, the relaxation loungers, or the outdoor whirlpool. The alpine hideaway places particular emphasis on natural, plant-based massage oils, infusions, and skincare products, all free of animal-derived ingredients and animal testing — including the premium, regional natural cosmetics from Trawenmoor Organic Skincare by Dr. Spiller. The Artemacur Spa also draws on the region’s great natural treasure: the world-famous salt and unique Bad Reichenhall alpine brine, both used throughout its wellness treatments. For deep relaxation, guests lie on a quartz-sand lounger filled with Reichenhall salt and let its gentle warmth wash over them. Every day, head chef Sascha Förster and his team of “craftsmen of indulgence” treat guests to creative dishes made from regional, seasonal ingredients, herbs from the hotel’s own garden, and the finest meat from its in-house dry-ager. For every day a guest opts out, €5 is donated to the mountain rescue service in Bad Reichenhall. That way, Klosterhof not only does good for the environment, it also saves on energy costs and supports the region’s local first responders. Since the program launched, it has already raised a five-figure sum for the mountain rescue team.
